Introduction

 

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in all immersion programs (“Programs”) offered by DegreeLabs Limited (“we,” “us,” or “our”) in collaboration with partner institutions such as the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and other future partners. By enrolling, you agree to these terms, which form a legally binding agreement.

 

Eligibility and Enrollment

 

  • Eligibility: Programs are open to school students (Classes 9–12), undergraduates, postgraduates, and recent graduates (within two years of graduation).
  • Enrollment: A seat is confirmed only after full payment or a non-refundable deposit (if applicable). Required documents must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the Program start date. We reserve the right to deny admission if eligibility is unmet or documents are incomplete.
  • Program Partners: Terms apply to all current and future DegreeLabs immersion programs, regardless of partner institution.

 

Payment Terms

 

  • All Fees Payable in Advance: Full settlement of Program fees is required before the commencement of the Program. For multi-stage or multi-semester Programs, payment may be required before each new stage or semester, as specified in the Program description.
  • Payment Methods: Payments may be made via secure online platforms (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe, FLYWIRE). Specific payment gateways may be required by partner institutions, and instructions will be provided accordingly.
  • Currency: Fees must be paid in the currency specified by the partner institution (e.g., Ringgit Malaysia for UKM, or as otherwise stated).
  • Bank Charges and Exchange Rates: Any shortfall arising from foreign currency exchange or bank charges is the responsibility of the participant. Any surplus will be reflected as a credit in the participant’s account.
  • Non-Refundable Fees: Registration or admission fees are non-refundable. For certain Programs, a non-refundable deposit may be required for last-minute bookings.
  • GST/Taxes: For Indian participants, paying partner institutions directly may allow for GST exemption. Consult your Program advisor for details.

 

Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refunds

 

  • Participant Withdrawal:
    • ≥30 days before Program start: Full refund (excluding non-refundable fees/deposit).
    • 15–29 days before start: 50% refund.
    • <15 days before start or post-arrival: No refund.
  • Program Cancellation by DegreeLabs: Full refund if cancellation is due to safety concerns (e.g., travel advisories). Unrecoverable costs (flights, visas) may not be refunded.
  • Force Majeure: No refunds for cancellations due to unforeseeable events (e.g., pandemics, natural disasters).
  • Partner Institution Policies: Refund and cancellation policies of the partner institution may apply in addition to these terms, and will be communicated at the time of enrollment.

 

Participant Responsibilities

 

  • Compliance: Adhere to host institution rules, local laws, and DegreeLabs’ Code of Conduct.
  • Attendance: Attend all sessions unless medically excused (doctor’s note required within 48 hours).
  • Travel and Safety: Secure valid passports/visas and purchase travel insurance covering medical emergencies and repatriation.
  • Conduct: No drug/alcohol use, harassment, or unauthorized travel. Violations may lead to expulsion without refund.

 

Liability and Insurance

 

  • Assumption of Risk: Participation is voluntary. Participants acknowledge risks (travel, health) and waive liability claims against DegreeLabs for injuries, losses, or damages incurred during the Program.
  • Insurance: Participants must ensure insurance covers medical treatment, trip cancellations, and lost belongings. DegreeLabs is not liable for uninsured losses.

 

Intellectual Property

 

  • Program Materials: All materials provided during Programs are proprietary to DegreeLabs or partner institutions. Unauthorized sharing/distribution is prohibited.

 

Program Changes and Policy Updates

 

  • Changes by Partner Institutions: Partner institutions reserve the right to amend fee schedules, Program details, Pricing or policies without prior notice. DegreeLabs will communicate such changes as soon as possible.
  • Changes by DegreeLabs: We may update these terms. Continued participation implies acceptance.

 

Governing Law and Disputes

 

  • Governing Law: Indian law applies.
  • Dispute Resolution: Disputes will be resolved in courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Mediation is mandatory before litigation.
